WILLIAM FRANK LEDFORD



William Frank Ledford, 73, of Murphy died Sunday, April 30, 2006 in a Murphy medical center. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Vener and Lea Beaver Ledford. He had served in the United States Army. He was an iron worker and a member of the Local Union 440. He attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky and Brandon Ledford.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda Faye Ledford Ledford; a daughter, Carol Postelle of Murphy; a son, Phillip “Bit” Ledford of Murphy; two sisters, Oma Elrod of Murphy, and Kitty Mae Teague of Marietta, GA; two brothers, Louis Ledford of Murphy, and Clinton Ledford of Hayesville; and seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 7:00 PM Wednesday (May 3) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Revs. Cecil Coleman and Shannon Helton officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 AM Thursday in the River Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brad, Josh, Heath, Jarred, and Brian Ledford, and Ray White. Billy Ray Ledford and Jackie Bryant will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made in loving memory of William Frank Ledford to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 700 Liberty Lane, Murphy, NC 28906.
