A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Pearl McLain and Myrtle Haigler Reagan and the wife of the late Tom Wilbur Axley, who died March 4, 1999. She was a retired teacher's aid and a member of the Andrews United Methodist Church. Surviving are a niece, Vicki Brown Rogers of Andrews; two nephews, Johnny Brown and wife, Trish of Andrews and Jack Brown and wife, Sara of Knoxville, TN; several great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins; and an aunt, Sue Haigler of Hiawassee, GA. Memorial services at 11:00 AM Tuesday (April 18) in the Andrews United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Hawk officiating. Inurnment in Valleytown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-10:50 Tuesday morning at the Andrews United Methodist Church prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Helen Axley to the Heifer Project International, PO Box 8058, Little Rock, AR 72203.
