EDITH TRUETT  BIRCHFIELD
 

Edith Truett Birchfield, 84, of Candler, NC, formerly of Andrews, died Monday (April 23, 2007) in a Candler care facility.  A native of Cherokee County, she had lived away for many years.  She was the daughter of the late Luther and Ollie Carter Truett.  She was a retired secretary in the insurance business. Edith was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church in Asheville.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Anita Bates and husband, Larry of Asheville;  a sister, Corena West of Myrtle Beach, SC;  a brother, James Luther Truett Jr. of Asheville.
 
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Asheville.
