GLESTIE MAE HOLLOWAY

Glestie Mae Holloway, 99, of Andrews died Thursday (April 26, 2007) at her residence.  A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late John and Hettie Birchfield Nelson and the wife of the late Jody Holloway, who died July 14, 1972.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
 
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend and had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all.
 
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Inez Ott;  a son, Lynn Holloway;  six brothers, Jack, Deck, Golman, Andy, Claude, and Herman Nelson;  two sisters, Nell Brady and Maude Phillips;  and a grandson, Joey Ott.
 
Surviving are four daughters, Ann Patterson, Hildred McMahan and husband, Dillard, Cecilia Bateman and husband, Johnny, and Helen Trammell all of Andrews;  14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services at 2:30 PM Sunday (April 29) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Rev. S.J. Waters, Rev. Mickey Stewart, Dr. Don Ambler, and Eve Miranda officiating.  Interment in Red Marble Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers:  Tommy, Roger, Eddie, and David Lynn Holloway, Jeff Mashburn, Joe Barton, and Terry and Steve Nelson.  Honorary pallbearers:  Grandsons:  Travis, Terry, and Jody Bateman, Stephen and Allen Patterson, Mike Trammell, Gary McMahan, John Ott, Farrell Holloway, and Joe Renner.
 
The family will receive friends from 1-2:15 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.
 
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Glestie Mae Holloway to the Red Marble Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Martha Postell, 1201 Red Marble Road, Andrews, NC 28901.
