ADELINE BROWN

Adeline Brown, 96, of Andrews died Tuesday (April 15, 2008) in an Andrews care center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and was the daughter of the late William Lewis and Abbie Lee Adams Pullium and the wife of the late James Lee Brown, who died November 22, 1990. Adeline was a homemaker and a member of the Valleytown Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Lunsford.
Surviving are a daughter, Alta Rogers of Marble; a son, Roy Brown of Andrews; a sister, Juanita Derreberry of Andrews; and eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday (April 19) in the Valleytown Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Jones and Glenn Rogers officiating. Interment was held in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Cook, Bobby Clayton, Mike Allison, Gary Wilson, Billy Phillips, and Todd Hicks. Honorary pallbearers were great grandsons.
The family received friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Valleytown Baptist Church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Adeline Brown to the Valleytown Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Ruby Brown, 2542 Stewart Road, Andrews, NC 28901.
