Ann Cassidy, 86, of Murphy, NC, formerly of Central Islip, NY, passed away Wednesday (August 24, 2005) at Murphy Medical Center after a sudden and unexpected illness. Born in Central Islip, NY, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rose Doelger. She was a unit manager at Central Islip State Hospital for 28 years until she retired. She was a faithful member of the Saint William Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Cassidy; a grandson, Robert William Cassidy; and four brothers, Peter, Joseph, George, and Ted Doelger. She was the much beloved mother of Timothy Cassidy and his wife, Adrienne of Murphy. She was a wonderful grandmother to Lisa Brooks and adored by her two great grandchildren, Eric and Amy Brooks all of Murphy. She is also survived by a special niece, Mary Grace Izzo. Memorial mass at 11:00 AM Wednesday (September 14, 2005) in Saint William Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating. Interment will be in the Saint Peter's Cemetery in Stillwater, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Ann Cassidy to the National Kidney Foundation, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 550, Charlotte, NC 28210.
