MYRTLE IVA TRANTHAM PICKLESIMER

Myrtle Iva Trantham Picklesimer, 93, of Murphy died Thursday (Aug. 25, 2005) in a Murphy care facility. A native of Polk County, TN, Myrtle had lived in Cherokee County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Lawson and Rose Benfield Trantham and the wife of the late Ray Otis Picklesimer, who died in 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Imogene Stiles and husband, Herman of Murphy, Patsy Johnson of Acworth, GA, Sue Dean and husband, Barron of Loganville, GA, and Vonnie Martin and husband, Enoch of Murphy; a son, Hubert Max Picklesimer and wife, Rosemary of Murphy; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Hazel Craig, Gladys Ware, Jennifer Hibberts, Debra Clarke, and Judy Panther.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Saturday (Aug. 27) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. L.B. Adams officiating. Burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Matthew Ricks, Eddie and David Stiles, Brandon and T.J. Dockery, and Josh Edmonds. Honorary pallbearers: Darrell and Jeff Hamby, and Dustin Edmonds.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Myrtle Iva Trantham Picklesimer to the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o T.L. McNabb, 186 Friendship Church Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
