HUGH WARD COOKE, SR.
Hugh Ward Cooke, Sr., 88, of Murphy died Thursday (August 30, 2007) in a Murphy medical center. A native of St. Louis, MO, he was a son of the late Jesse A. and Bertha Thomas Cooke and the husband of the late Marion Elizabeth Lane Cooke. He had served in the National Guard and was a retired tool and die machinist.
Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth G. Owens of Murphy and Linda Ellen Nash of Winter Park, FL; two sons, Hugh W. Cooke, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL and Chester D. Cooke of Kennesaw, GA; and eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday (Sept. 3) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Larry Cantrell officiating. Interment in the White Chapel Cemetery in De Witt, NY.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 Monday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
