LILLIE MAE THOMAS ROBINSON

Lillie Mae Thomas Robinson, 98, of Murphy went to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 in a Murphy medical center. She was born July 29, 1910 in McMinn County, TN and moved to Cherokee County in 1929. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Fannie Ailey Thomas and the wife of the late Frank G. Robinson, who died Mar. 10, 1986 after 55 years of marriage. She was a retired textile worker and homemaker and was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Pauline Robinson and Nellie Sue Pace; a son, Hubert E. “Gene” Roberson; and three sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances Moran of China Grove, NC and Vicki Robinson of the home; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Sunday, Aug. 31 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Revs. Emory Samples and Dean Hall officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Sonny Cole, Gary Moran, Clifford Panter, David Payne, Paul Farmer, and J.L. Little. Honorary pallbearers were Ab Radford, Don Moran, Billy Millsaps, and Bill Yonce.
The family received friends from 1-2:45 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Lillie Mae Thomas Robinson to the Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency, PO Box 465, Hayesville, NC 28904.
