CHARLIE V. CAMPBELL



Charlie V. Campbell, 61, of Marble died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009 in a Chattanooga, TN hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and the son of the late William Rufus and Gloria Gladys Smith Campbell. Charlie had worked for Canton Hardwood for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are three sisters, Carolyn Ledford and husband, Earl and Ethel Campbell all of Marble, and Karen Carpenter of Marion, NC; three brothers, Richard Campbell and wife, Rosemary of Hillsboro, TN, Marlin Campbell of Bryson City, and Michael Campbell of Marble; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 7:00 PM Friday, Aug. 28 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Fred Lunsford officiating. Inurnment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends from 5:30-6:50 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Charlie V. Campbell to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
