DORIS JEAN MCCLURE



Doris Jean McClure, 65, of Ellenwood, GA, formerly of Murphy, died Saturday, December 20, 2003 in Henry Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, she had been living in Georgia for the past 47 years. She was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Ethel Kephart Greene. She was a retired field secretary for the Atlanta Housing Authority. She was of the Baptist faith.

Doris and her husband were an inseparable couple for 48 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Hayden McClure; a daughter, Teresa Longino and her husband, Bruce of Stockbridge, GA; a son, Hayden Mitchell McClure and his wife, Gail of Culleoka, TN; and two grandsons, Eric B. Longino of Stockbridge, GA and Michael R. McClure of Culleoka.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday (Dec. 22) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Fred Lunsford officiating. Burial in the Mount Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dan Lunsford, Bill Huffines, Edwin Hendrix, Max McClure, Noah Johnson, and Garry McClure. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening (Dec. 21) at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.

The family requests memorials be made to the Mount Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2700 Old Murphy Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
