FRANCES
WEST
Frances West, 82, of Andrews died Saturday, December 13, 2003 in Murphy Medical
Center. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, she was a daughter
of the late James Columbus “Jimmy” and Sally Elizabeth Grindstaff
Robinson and the wife of the late Eric Earl West, who died January 7, 1997.
She was a retired cook and was a member of the Junaluska Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Modean Chastain, and Nancy Cochran, both of Marble,
Bonnie Jones of Andrews, and Frances “Annie” Falls of Douglasville,
GA; two sons, Roy and Ray West, both of Andrews; three sisters, Dorothy Chastain
of Marble, Jane Scroggs of Robbinsville, and Lemmer Hedrick of Bessemer City,
NC; five brothers, Claude Robinson of Black Mountain, NC, Amos Robinson of
Andrews, Bobby Joe Robinson of Linconton, NC, Clarence and Lloyd Robinson,
both of Murphy; and 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and eight great
great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Monday (Dec. 15) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral
Home, Andrews with the Rev. Lewis Welch officiating. Burial in the Valleytown
Cemetery. Pallbearers: Danny Cochran, Tony Jones, Jimmy Chastain, Kirk Falls,
Scott and Austin West. Honorary Pallbearers: Austin Cochran, Robert Chastain,
Eddie and Tim West, Barry and Jimmy Jones.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Sunday evening (Dec. 14) at
the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews. The family requests memorials may be made to
the Junaluska Baptist Church, P.O.Box 1325, Andrews, NC 28901.
