Ivie Funeral Home GARY JOSEPH NEAL

Gary Joseph Neal, 45, of Andrews died Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at a Murphy hospital. He was a native of Cherokee County, where he had lived most of his life. He was the son of Samuel Joseph Neal of Spotsylvania, VA and the late Frances Mosteller Neal. He had served in the US Marine Corp. He was an equipment supervisor with Peter-Kiewit and Sons Construction He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Neal who died in 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Stacy and Alaina Neal, both of the home and their mother, Mattie Robinson Neal ; a sister, Lana Northrup of Bartlette, TN; a grandson, Isaac Alguilar and a niece, Amy Queen. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2004 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Rev. Mark Chase officiating. Burial will be in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Mosteller, James Allen, Scott Cruse, Ricky and Andrew Leistra, Ricky Anderson and John Lovingood.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 Saturday at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.

The family has requested that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906
