Fred W. Breedlove, 93, of Murphy died Sunday, December 26, 2004 in a Murphy medical center. A native of Swain County, but he had been living in Cherokee County since 1920. He was the son of the late Ben A. and Pallas Freeman Breedlove. Fred was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Upper Peachtree Baptist Church. Surviving are three sisters, Edith Breedlove of the home, Farris Hicks of Hayesville, and Jessie Shugarts Rishel of Clearfield, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services at 11:00 AM Tuesday (Dec. 28) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Dr. Chester Jones officiating. Burial in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers: Kenneth and Donald Cook, Cline and Ray Hicks, Randall Griffith, and Harold Moore. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 Tuesday at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.
