FRANK L. WATSON

Frank L. Watson, 82, of Marble died Tuesday (Dec. 7, 2004) in a Cherokee County care facility. A native of Mulder, OK, he moved to Cherokee County in 1944. He was the son of the late Clarence C. and Myrtle Cook Watson. He was a retired counselor for hard core youth offenders in the NC Prison System. He was a member of the Vengeance Creek Baptist Church. His hobbies included reading and Frank had written and published a book entitled "Been There and Back".

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Thompson; two sons, John Watson and wife, Beth of Acworth, GA and Lane Watson of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Watson and wife, Jennifer and Allison Prohl and husband, Curtis; and a great granddaughter, Gracie Prohl.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday (Dec. 9) in the Vengeance Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Lunsford officiating. Burial in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy where the body will be until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.

The family requests memorials be made to the Vengeance Creek Baptist Church, PO Box 253, Marble, NC 28905.
