A native of Upson County, GA, he had lived most of his life in Macon, GA before moving to Murphy in 2000. He was the son of Helen Blount Watson Hunter of Murphy and the late Thomas E. Watson. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Watson. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sons, Christopher Watson of Atlanta and John T. Watson of Murphy; and two sisters, Janice Poulnott of Murphy and Faye Freeman of Sparta, GA. Graveside services at 1:00 PM Saturday (Dec. 18, 2004) in the New Hope Primative Baptist Church Cemetery in Yatesville, GA with the Rev. Phillip Thompson officiating.
