Maudie Rose Rich Ashe, 75, of Brasstown died Tuesday (Dec. 14, 2004) at the residence of her daughter. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Bob Henry and Bertha Cearyl Rich and the wife of the late Clyde William Ashe, who died Dec. 26, 1997. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Ashe, who died Feb. 27, 2001. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Slagle of Spruce Pine, NC and Valerie Pierce of Mineral Bluff, GA; three sisters, Hassie Frankum of Murphy, Carrie Frady of Mineral Bluff, and Elsie Moore of Culberson; a brother, Robert Rich of Mineral Bluff; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson, Joey L. Stancel, Janessa Rose Rich, Louis Wade Ashe, and Julie Sierra Davis. Funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday (Dec. 16) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Burial in the Old Martins Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers: Clyde Pierce, Jeff and Chucky Brown, Mack and Frank Moore, and Nathan Rogers. The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Thursday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services. Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements. Remember
