Pearl R. Massey, 84, of Brasstown, NC died Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) in a Clay County care facility. A native and lifetime resident of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Edith Hawkins Massey. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Young Harris, GA. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ethel, Frances, and Essie Massey, and Nadine Anderson; and one brother, Wallace Massey. Surviving are a sister, Nell Lee and her husband, Rev. William Lee of Brasstown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services at 2:00 PM Saturday (Dec. 18) in the First Baptist Church of Young Harris with the Rev. William Lee officiating. Burial in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Hayesville. Nephews as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Young Harris prior to the services. The family requests memorials be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Buddy Lowe, 240 Rocky Branch Lane, Hayesville, NC 28904.
