“MAMA” JANE BRYSON
“Mama” Jane Bryson, 105, of Andrews died Thursday (Dec. 1, 2005). A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Brack and Ara West Derryberry and the wife of the late Lawrence Bryson, who died Feb. 22, 1966. She was a homemaker and loved needle working and working in her yard and garden. Jane was a member of the Red Marble Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a step-son, Herbert Bryson.
Surviving are two daughters, Gladys Huscusson of Hendersonville, NC and Louise Stanley of Andrews; two sons, Vincent Bryson and wife, Yvonne of Gastonia, NC and Lyle Bryson and wife, Cathy of Andrews; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren; and two special caregivers, Linda Stanley and Nicole Gillespie.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Saturday (Dec. 3, 2005) in the Red Marble Baptist Church with Pastor Mickey Stewart and Rev. France Postell officiating. Burial in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Keith, Mike, and John Bryson, Raymond and Mack Huscusson, and Rondall and Roger Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Red Marble Baptist Church prior to the services.
