LEE ROBERT “Bob” HIXON
Lee Robert “Bob” Hixon, 78, of Marble died Thursday (December 8, 2005) in an Asheville V.A. hospital. A native of Hamilton, OH, he had lived in Bradenton, FL, Bryson City, NC, and Robbinsville, NC before moving to Marble in 1995. He was the son of the late John Frank and Anna Kathleen Smith Hixon. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy in the Pacific Theatre. For several years, he was a non-denominational minister is Florida. Bob loved to cook and please people and was owner and operator of the Bashfull Bob's Café in Swain and Cherokee Counties.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Ann Harris Hixon; three sons, Gregory Lee Hixon of Knoxville, TN, Michael Dean Hixon of Myakka City, FL, and Timothy Jon Hixon of Marble; a step-daughter, Victoria Lynn Jones of Robbinsville; two step-sons, Danny Steve Bryant and Marcus Wayne Bryant both of Bradenton; a sister, Kathleen Storch of Georgia; and seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chapter, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
