LUCILLE STILES

Lucille Stiles, 71, of Marble died Wednesday (December 28, 2005) in an Andrews care facility. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Randall and Gertrude Gibson Cook and the wife of the late James W. “Jay” Stiles, who died in August of 1994. She was an inspector with Lee Company, retiring in 1995 after 15 years of employment. She was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Marble.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Sharp and Rebecca Lynn Stiles.

Surviving are a daughter, Gail McClure and husband, Jimmy of Marble; two sisters, Peggy Roberson and husband, Johnny and Nancy Martin and husband, Richard all of Murphy; four brothers, Max Cook and wife, Carolyn of Sylva, and Howard Cook and wife, Glenda, Jim Cook and wife, Susie, and Donald Cook and wife, Donna all of Murphy; four grandchildren, Jill McClure Radford, Jeremy McClure, Caleb Sharp and Zachary Sharp; three great granddaughters, Bethanie, Mallorie, and Macie Radford; and a son-in-law, Roy Sharp of Marble.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Saturday (Dec. 31) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Charlie Stalcup officiating. Burial in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Roy and Caleb Sharp, Jeff and Richard Martin, Chad Cook, and Johnny Roberson.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Lucille Stiles to the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mount Zion Baptist Church, 5521 NC Highway 141, Marble, NC 28905.
