ROXIE SEAMON

Roxie Seamon, 83, of New Bern, NC, formerly of Murphy, died Saturday (December 17, 2005) in Craven Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Monroe County, TN, but had lived in Cherokee County for most of her life before moving to New Bern in 1997. She was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Bertice Davis Cook. She was a retired employee of Levi Strauss & Company and was a member of the Murphy First Baptist Church. Her passion was gardening and flowers.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are a son, Harold Goggins and his wife, Debbie of New Bern, NC; two sisters, Ola Helms of Monroe, NC and Lillian Hunsucker of Murphy; two sister-in-laws, Mabel Cook of Murphy and Olivia Cook of Meridian, MS; two grandchildren, Helena Brockman and Kamalani Goggins; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Wednesday (Dec. 21) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Rev. Eddie Cook officiating. Burial in the Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers: Larry Ellis, Merle Kephart, Ricky and Chris Twiggs, Jerry Johnson and Randy Cook.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
