RALPH JUNIOR  FARMER   Ralph Junior Farmer, 64, of Murphy died Monday (Dec. 31, 2007) at his residence.  A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late William Ralph and Lura Pauline Radford Farmer.  In his early life, he had worked for Margaret’s Studio and Easley’s Pallet Company and later retired after many years as a grader for Mundy’s Veneer Mill.  Junior was of the Baptist faith.  His hobbies included gardening and NASCAR racing and he enjoyed his pet dog, Faith.   Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer Farmer of Murphy; a sister, Shirley Clonts and husband, Mack of Lawrenceville, GA;  a granddaughter, Darian Gibbs of Blue Ridge, GA;  and three nieces and six great nieces.   Funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday (Jan. 3) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Danny Moss officiating.  Interment in Unaka Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers:  William Hayes, Carl and Wayne Johnson, John Dementry, and Dustin and Robbie Stalcup.   The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.   The family requests memorials be made in memory of Ralph Junior Farmer to the Unaka Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Norvell Murphy, 14914 Joe Brown Highway, Murphy, NC 28906.   Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy in charge of all arrangements.
