Ivie Funeral Home Obituary - MABLE ELIZABETH HOWELL Mable Elizabeth Howell, 84, of Hayesville died Wednesday (December 26, 2007) in a Gainesville, GA hospital. She was a native of Chattanooga, TN, but had lived most of her life in Miami and Tallahassee, FL, before moving to Clay County 14 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Cleveland Alexander and Mable Octavia Hooper Wright, and the wife of the late Gerald Lanier Howell who died May 09, 1978. She was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker. She was a member of the Hayesville First United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Paula Hall and husband, Jeff of Hayesville; a son, Gregg Howell and wife, Lynn of Bowling Green, KY; three sisters, Bertha Ricks of Gainesville, FL, Betty Landis and Nancy Sue Bridges, both of Hayesville; and five grandchildren, Andrew and Paige Dursi, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Garrett Howell. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday (Dec. 28) in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kirk Hatherly officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made in loving memory of Mable Elizabeth Howell to the Hayesville First United Methodist Church, PO Box 85, Hayesville, NC 28904. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday (Dec. 28) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Kirk Hatherly officiating. Interment in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Matthew Howell, Robert Landis, Damon Bates, David Campbell, Rory and Henry Scott.
