EDNA "EDDIE" MARIE BABB

Edna “Eddie” Marie Babb, 88, of Brasstown, NC died Sunday, February 5, 2006 following her courageous battle with a muscular disease (ALS). She was born in Youngstown, OH, January 9, 1918, the daughter of the late John and Louise Weisent. Eddie served two years in the United States Navy during WWII. Eddie will be held in loving memory by her countless friends and church family. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Murphy.

Eddie was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jim” Babb; her son, Herbert Babb; and her daughter, Donna Estes.

Surviving are her loving children, Linda Abernathy of Pulaski, TN and John Babb of Cornelius, NC, as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 3:00 PM Saturday (Feb. 11) in the Episcopal Church of the Messiah with Reverend Dr. James A. Johnson officiating. Inurnment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on Sunday (Feb. 12).

The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy where the body will be until placed in the church at the service hour.
