RICK ALAN ROGERS
Rick Alan Rogers, 48, of Hayesville died Wednesday (February 8, 2006) in a Murphy hospital. A native of Towns County, GA, Rick had lived in Atlanta and Hiawassee, GA before moving to Clay County seven years ago. He was the son of Gene Rogers of Blairsville, GA and Leota Hunter Rogers Hamilton of Young Harris, GA. He had an associate’s degree in electronics from North Georgia Tech. He was an appliance technician and welder. Recently Rick had been working in construction. He was a member of the North Mount Zion Church of God in Hiawassee and Living Word Christian Fellowship in Hayesville.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Faith Vandergriff Rogers; two daughters, Christine Fischer and Jessica Taylor both of Orlando, FL; a sister, Connie Ann Hamilton of Conyers, GA; two brothers, Michael Hamilton of Young Harris and Steven R. Hamilton of Conyers; two grandchildren, Tristan and Torin Taylor; and his maternal grandmother, Ruth S. Hunter of Young Harris.
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday (February 11) in the North Mount Zion Church of God with the Revs. Raburne Wilson and Glen Eller officiating. Burial in Old Union Cemetery. Pallbearers: Michael Hamilton, Jeff Broom, Jack Henderson, Alan Ball, Sheldon Kallie, and Steven Taylor. Honorary pallbearers: Cody and Rick Hamilton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Stevens Federal Bank in Hiawassee in the name of Rick Rogers.
