
EUGENE COOK
Eugene Cook, 78, of Murphy died Tuesday (February 13, 2007) in a Chattanooga, TN hospital. A native of Cleveland, OH, he had lived in Port Charlotte, FL before moving to Murphy in 1999. He was the son of the late Eugene and Helen Bossek Cook. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea, being a two-time Purple Heart recipient. He owned Cook’s Landscaping in Shaker Heights, OH for 30 years and was a member of Saint William Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Cook.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Kathy Cook; two sons, Eugene J. Cook of Painesville, OH and Larry Cook of Hollywood, FL; a step-daughter, Robyn Mincek and husband, Greg of Wickliffe, OH; a step-son, Robert Sciko of Mentor-On-The-Lake, OH; a sister-in-law, Deborah Hummel and husband, Mike of East Liverpool, OH; three brothers-in-law, Robert Plasman of Maple Heights, OH, John Plasman and wife, Margaret of Lawrenceville, GA, and Ron Plasman of Fairfield, OH; four grandchildren, Jessie and Meggan Cook, Lindsay Kovacich, and Holly Sciko; a great granddaughter, Alyssa Kovacich; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial mass at 2:00 PM Saturday (March 10) at Saint William Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Eugene Cook to the Sharing Center, c/o Saint William Catholic Church, PO Box 546, Murphy, NC 28906.
