JOYCE LUNSFORD



Joyce Lunsford, 81, of Centreville, VA, formerly of Andrews, died Sunday (February 11, 2007) in a Falls Church, Virginia hospital. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late John Harve and Stella Everett Anderson and the wife of the late Wade Lunsford, who died January 13, 1998. Joyce was a retired typesetter and was a member of the Valley River Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosa, Myrtle, and Azalea;  and four brothers, Glenn, Gwin, Lester, and Grady.

Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Gail “Terry” Lunsford of Centreville, VA;  two sons, Wallace Wade “Tony” Lunsford and Willis Dale “Toby” Lunsford both of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Alene Hughes of Salisbury, NC and Winnie Painter of Gastonia;  a brother, Donald Anderson of Asheville;  two grandchildren, Shane and Teela;  four great grandchildren;  and an honorary grandson, Sean.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Friday (Feb. 16) in the Valley River Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Phillips officiating.  Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers:  Sean Cummings, Danny and Brandon Hughes, Willis Anderson, Bob Malone, and Dale Barton.
 
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Friday afternoon at the Valley River Baptist Church prior to the services.
