NANNIE BELLE PHILLIPS

Nannie Belle Phillips, 98, of Hayesville died Friday (Feb. 2, 2007) in a Clay County care center. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late John Oliver and Laura Shearer Lyon and the wife of the late Thomas G. Phillips, who died in 1954. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Lyon.
Surviving are a son, Dan Phillips and wife, Regina of Lawrenceville, GA; and a sister, Betty Wimpey of Hayesville.
Funeral services at 7:00 PM Saturday (Feb. 3) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Dr. Chester Jones officiating. Interment at 9:30 AM Sunday (Feb. 4) in the Moss Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tommy, Barry, Eric, and Anthony Wimpey, Bill Ledford, and Floyd Phillips. Honorary pallbearers: Kenny White, Todd Phillips, and Thomas and Horace Wimpey.
The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Nannie Belle Phillips to the Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 1126, Hayesville, NC 28904.
