VIOLA  CHASTAIN
 

Viola Chastain, 84, of Stanley, NC, formerly of Hayesville, died Tuesday (Feb. 27, 2007).  She was a native of Towns County, GA, but had lived in Clay County most of her life before moving to Stanley seven years ago.  She was the daughter of the late Tyrus W. and Bessie Hunter Garrett and the wife of the late William H. Chastain, who died March 2, 1985. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Sara Linda Chastain of Stanley; five sons, William Eugene Chastain of Highlands, NC, Robert W. Chastain of Franklin, NC, Charlie H. Chastain of Marble, and Johnny Chastain and Raymond Earl Chastain both of Stanley;  two sisters, Martha Frye of Hayesville and Velma Chastain of South Carolina;  two brothers, T.J. Garrett of Hiawassee, GA and T.W. Garrett of Norfolk, VA;  and 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Saturday (March 3, 2007) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Gene Bailey and Michael Chastain officiating.
 
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Saturday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
