MINNIE BENELEE  HOGSED
 

Minnie Benelee Hogsed, 79, of Hayesville died Friday (Feb. 15, 2008) at her residence.  She was a native of Clay County, but had lived in Gwinnett County, GA before moving back to Clay County.  She was the daughter of the late Leonard Joseph  and Lillie Leona Kitchens Hooper.  She was a homemaker and retired from Dolco Packing Corporation in Lawrenceville, GA.  Benelee was a member of the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and a mom who sacrificed for all her children.
 
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Moneree Waldroup and Beverly Hooper;  and a brother, Rondall Hooper.
 
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Ellis Hogsed;  two daughters, Dixie Hogsed Hancock of Hayesville and Debra Moss Cloer of Andrews;  six sons, Timothy W. Hogsed and Dwight Moss both of Hayesville, Dale Hogsed of Dacula, GA, Phillip Moss of Watkinsville, GA, Jerry Moss of Stone Mountain, GA, and David Moss of Bogart, GA;  a brother, Donald Hooper of Hayesville;  and 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday (Feb. 18) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Gary Ashe officiating. Interment in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Sons as pallbearers.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Minnie Benelee Hogsed to the Old Shooting Creek Cemetery Fund, 951 Old Highway 64 East, Hayesville, NC 28904 or the Good Shepherd Hospice, PO Box 465, Hayesville, NC 28904.
