EMMA LOU ROGERS

Emma Lou Rogers, 87, of Murphy died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009 in an Andrews care center. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Vivian Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Upper Peachtree Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Garnett, George, and Olen Moore.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel Ralph Rogers; a son, Hobert Odas Hamby Jr. of Murphy; two granddaughters, Melissa Hamby Davidson and husband, Joseph of Clover, SC and Melanie Susan Hamby of Murphy; and three great grandchildren, Brett, Brittany, and Baileigh Lovingood.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Friday, Feb. 20 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Rev. Fred Lunsford officiating. Interment was in Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Panter, Cody and Jordan Messer, Harold Moore, and Larry and Barry Curtis.
The family received friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
