A native of Ritchie, MD, she had lived in New Jersey for 26 years before moving to Clay County in 1991. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Gardner and Gladys Deale Ryon. Betty was a retired bookkeeper and was a member of the Hayesville First United Methodist Church. She had been a member and past president of the Louisburg, NC Junior Women's Club. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Leslie G. Bullard; two daughters, Beth Fisher and husband, Tony of Marietta, GA and Deale Fitch and husband, Michael of Dacula, GA; a son, Tim Bullard and wife, Debbie of Oak Harbor, WA; a sister, Rosemary Royer and husband, Ronnie of Brooms Island, MD; and four grandchildren, Leslie Mann, Caitlin Fisher, Erin Fisher, and Jordan Fitch. Funeral services at 2:00 PM Friday (Feb. 3) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Kirk Hatherly officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Betty Jane Bullard to the Hayesville First United Methodist Church, P.O.
