NICHOLAS C. "Nick" VERTULLO

Nicholas C. “Nick” Vertullo, 70, of Murphy and LaBelle, FL died unexpectedly Monday (Jan. 22) at his residence. He was a native of Boston, MA, but had lived in Florida for the past 30 years. He was the son of the late Pasquale and Saveria Nastari Vertullo. He was a graduate of Boston College with a master’s degree in education. Nick played baseball for Boston College and was inducted to the Boston College Hall of Fame and played in a college World Series game. He had served in the US Army. Nick taught high school in Boston and later in Florida for 21 years, where he was also a baseball coach. He was presently beginning a new career in real estate in the Murphy area. He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Skipper Vertullo; four step-daughters, Angie Nazario of Ft. Myers, FL, and Elaina Hudson and husband, Ronnie, Anita Dye, and Pamela Dye all of LaBelle, FL; a step-son, Todd Dye of LaBelle; two sisters, Carmela Pearce and Joanne Palie both of Boston; and ten grandchildren and a great grandson.
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Saturday (Jan. 27) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Father George Kloster officiating. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
