WARD J. HOGSED
Ward J. Hogsed, 84, of Hayesville died Thursday (Jan. 25, 2007) in a Towns County, GA hospital. A native of Towns County, he had lived in Clay County since 1982. He was the son of the late Luther and Edna Wood Hogsed. He retired in 1982 after 28 years with General Motors Parts Division. Ward was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Blon Ledford Hogsed; two sons, Monroe Hogsed of Lithia Springs, GA and Jim Hogsed of Lawrenceville, GA; a sister, Blon Gordon of Blue Ridge, GA; three brothers, Max Hogsed of Hiawassee, GA, Willis Hogsed of Kennesaw, GA, and Herman Hogsed of Cincinnati, OH; and six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (Jan. 28) in the Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. David Berrong officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Rex, Fred, Josh, and Adrian Hogsed, and Kirt, Heath, and Levi Kimsey.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where the body will be until placed in the church at the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Ward J. Hogsed to the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Fred Hogsed, 2496 Clovis Drive, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
