ETHEL A. ROSA
Ethel A. Rosa, 69, of Hayesville died Friday, January 22, 2010 at her residence. She was a native of Pottsville, PA, but had lived in New Jersey and Florida before moving to Clay County in 2000. She was a retired registered nurse. Ethel was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and the Order of St. Luke.
She was the daughter of the late John S. Kurilla and Lorraine Frantz Kurilla Goebel. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lori and Melinda Rosa.
Surviving are her companion, Gayle Graziano; a daughter, Dominque Rosa Lester Dexter of Indianapolis, IN; three brothers, John Kurilla of Bricktown, NJ, and Mark Goebel and Bobby Goebel both of New Jersey; and two grandsons, James Lester and Zackery Lester.
A memorial service was held at 4:00 PM Sunday, Jan. 24 in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. John Rice officiating.
The family received friends following the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Ethel A. Rosa to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216 or to the Valley River Humane Society, 7450 US 19, Marble, NC 28905.
