REV. JULIUS EROIS ROBERTSON


Rev. Julius Erois Robertson, 81, of Murphy died Sunday (July 15, 2007) in a Murphy medical center. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Rev. Jesse and Nora Ivester Robertson. He retired after 40 years as a clerk for the Cherokee County school bus garage and was a Baptist minister.  He was a member of the Notla Baptist Church where he had served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and was pastor emeritus.  He was pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church for several years and served as interim pastor at Notla Baptist Church on two occasions.
 
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys R. Hogsed; five brothers, Charles, John D., Quintin, Hayes, and Max Robertson;  a niece, Tresa Hogsed Heirs;  and a nephew, Stanley Robertson.
 
Surviving are two sisters, Ann Cochran and husband, Varnol of Bryson City, NC and Vena Beaver and husband, Lloyd of Elkin, NC;  five nieces, Sherri Sneed and husband, Steve, Merry Tanner and husband, Wendell, and Melissa Anderson and husband, Jared all of Murphy, Connie Brown and husband, Blake of Jacksonville, FL, and Kim Crutchfield of Bryson City;  five nephews, Jeff Robertson and wife, Gail and Hal Robertson and wife, Jodie all of Murphy, Trent Beaver and wife, Amanda of Elkin, Darrell Robertson and wife, Beth of Knoxville, TN, and Trevor Cochran of Bryson City;  and several great nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday (July 18) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Revs. James Paul, Aud Brown, and Danny Burch officiating.  Interment in Bellview Community Cemetery.  Pallbearers:  Johnny Anderson, Buster and Don Rogers, Eugene Morrow, Jay Killian, and Harold Howard.  Honorary pallbearers: Frederick Dalrymple, Harley Beaver, Buck Kuykendall, Terry Killian, Rev. Avery Beaver, and all area ministers.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Rev. Julius Erois Robertson to the Bellview Community Cemetery Fund, c/o Harley Beaver, 139 Carson Lane, Murphy, NC 28906.
