ADA  MATHESON
 


Ada Matheson, 93, of Hayesville died Monday (July 23, 2007) at her residence.  A native of Yancey County, NC, Ada had lived in Clay County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Pinkney and Mary Grindstaff Robinson and the wife of the late Noah Amos Matheson, who died June 12, 1996.  She was a homemaker and a member of Martin Hill Baptist Church.
 
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Ditmore Robinson.
 
Surviving are five daughters, Louise Anderson, Pansy Galloway, and Pauline Ledford all of Hiawassee, GA, Ruth Matheson of Hayesville, and Grace Bradshaw of Lawrenceville, GA;  four sons, Ralph Matheson and Buddy Matheson both of Hayesville and Roy Matheson and Jesse Matheson both of Hiawassee;  two sisters, Mae Dale of Hayesville and Lydia Sanders of Canton, OH;  a brother, Clyde Robinson of Marion, NC;  and 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday (July 26) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Jimmy Rogers and Charles Abernathy officiating.  Interment in Martin Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  Nephews as pallbearers:  Ray Jones, Hillard, Carl, Allen, and Archie Sanders, and Justin Dale.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Martin Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Pearl Cross, 84 Cross Lane, Hayesville, NC 28904.
