ELLIS LEE “TOMMY” PARKER
Ellis Lee “Tommy” Parker, 72, of Hayesville died Tuesday (July 10, 2007) at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, he was the son of the late Lyle and Monetree Parker. He was a heavy equipment operator retiring from C.W. Matthews Construction after 26 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Willa Mae Hogsed; and a grandson, Alex “Chief” Parker.
Surviving are four sons, Carroll Parker and wife, Angela, Ellis Parker and wife, Joanna, and Charles Parker and wife, Tracy all of Hayesville, and Kevin Parker and wife, Lana of Hiawassee, GA; four sisters, Lillian Edwards of Hiawassee, Azalee Ledford of Hayesville, Betty Hendrix of Cherryville, NC, and Madge Champion of Lincolnton, NC; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services at 7:00 PM Wednesday (July 11) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Kurt Ledford officiating. Interment at 10:00 AM Thursday (July 12) in the Shooting Creek Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Tyler, Luke, Carroll, Kevin, Ellis, and Charles Parker. Honorary pallbearers: Johnny Hogsed and Trevor Parker.
The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Ellis Lee “Tommy” Parker to the American Cancer Society, Hayesville Chapter, PO Box 1193, Hayesville, NC 28904.
