Arvil McClure, 93, of Andrews died Friday (June 15, 2007) at his daughter’s residence.  A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Robert and Lena Gibby McClure and the husband of the late Thelma Mae Hogan McClure, who died Feb. 21, 2003.  He had worked at District Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1976. Arvil was a member of Junaluska Baptist Church.
 
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Willie Belle, Dolly, and Katherine;  and a brother, Garland.
 
Surviving are a daughter, Wanda Carringer of Murphy;  two sons, Arnold Dee McClure of Mineral Bluff, GA and Eddie Ted McClure of Murphy;  a brother, Talbert McClure of Andrews;  and six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (June 17) in the Valleytown Chapel with the Revs. Homer Wilson and Ron Hicks officiating. Interment in Valleytown Cemetery.  Pallbearers:  Adam Garrett, Michael, Dallas, and Scott Carringer, Matthew McClure, and Jamie Brooks.
 
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 Sunday afternoon at the Valleytown Chapel prior to the services.
