CLIFFORD G. ZIMMER, JR.

Clifford G. Zimmer, Jr, 82, of Murphy died Saturday (June 23, 2007) in a Chattanooga, TN hospital. A native of Elmira, NY, he had lived in New Canaan, CT for most of his life before moving to Cherokee County 14 years ago. He was the son of the late Clifford G. Zimmer, Sr. and Julia O’Leary Zimmer. He was a 1947 graduate of West Point. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. Cliff had worked for several companies during his life and retired as CEO and president of Datawatch in London, England. He was a member of Saint William Catholic Church.
 
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Cynthia Swebilius Zimmer; a daughter, Linda Christine Tiani and husband, Patrick of New Canaan, CT; six sons, Curtis Zimmer and wife, Marcia of Munson, MA, Thomas Zimmer and wife, Barbara of Seattle, WA, Eric Zimmer and wife, Susan of Sandy Hook, CT, Steven Zimmer and wife, Christine of Conway, NH, Timothy Zimmer and wife, Tara of Chicago, IL, and John Zimmer and wife, Christina of Brooklyn, NY;  a brother, Robert Zimmer and wife, Lee of San Diego, CA;  and 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
 
Memorial services at 11:00 AM Saturday (July 7) in Saint William Catholic Church with Father George Kloster officiating.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in loving memory of Clifford G.
