OLIVIA PAYNE MORROW

Olivia Payne Morrow, 85, of Murphy died Friday (June 8, 2007) in a Maryville, TN hospital. A native of Monroe County, TN, she had lived in Cherokee County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late David L. and Emily Cantrell Payne and the wife of the late Poley Morrow, who died June 24, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Reid’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was loved by all for her faith in God.
Surviving are five daughters, Diane Kidd, Connie Deese and husband, Larry, and Blanche Ledford and husband, Hoyt all of Murphy, Christina Pickens and husband, David of Friendsville, TN, and Loretta Taylor and husband, Michael of Coker Creek, TN; four sons, Morris Morrow and wife, Evelyn of Dalton, GA, Bobby Morrow and wife, Delores and Hank Morrow and wife, Charlotte all of Turtletown, TN, and Billy Morrow and wife, Helen of Murphy; three sisters, Rosa Mae Hamby of Canton, GA, Gertrude Taylor of Murphy, and Hattie Bea Dean of Clinton, MO; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, nine step-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Monday (June 11) in the Reid’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mark Handy, Johnny Stewart, and Jerry Morrow officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Luke, Travis, Matthew, and Sam Morrow, Randall McDonald, and Jose Resendiz. Honorary pallbearers: David Pickens, and Eddie and Marvin Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy where the body will be until placed in the church at the service hour.
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Olivia Payne Morrow to the Reid’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Alex Starks, 3071 Hiwassee Dam Access Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
