Jackie Neal Nichols, 54, of Hayesville died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at his residence. He was a native of Cherokee Co., had lived in Hall Co. Ga. but lived in Clay Co. for most of his life. Jackie transported mobile homes for 25 years and was owner and operator of Nichols Mobile Home Sales from 1992 thru 2002. He also owned and operated D&J Dozer, Inc. from 1995 till 2007. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was the son of the late James Elmer and Faye Hogsed Nichols. He was also preceeded in death by two brothers D.L. and Danny Nichols. Surviving are a wife, Mary McClure Nichols of Hayesville; a daughter, Joni Mashburn and husband, Jason of Hayesville; two sisters, Delores Patterson of Interlachen, Florida, and Diane Worley of Hayesville; a brother, Johnny L. Nichols of Hayesville; and three grandchildren, Hannah, Maggie, and Susan Mashburn of Hayesville. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm on Sunday at the Ivie Funeral Home in Hayesville. The funeral service is immediately following in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville. The family requests memorials be made in memory of Jackie Nichols to the Union Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o JoAnn H. Woody, 685 Thumping Creek Road, Hayesville, NC 28904. Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville in charge of all arrangements.
