LENORA JONES

Lenora Jones, 98, of Andrews died Tuesday (March 21, 2006) in a Robbinsville care center. She was a native of Webster County, WV, but had lived in Cherokee County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Patrick Randolph and Laura Mae Rutherford Griffith and the wife of the late Thomas J. Jones, who died October 5, 1965. She was a homemaker and was the oldest living member of the Andrews First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Jones Pullium.

Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette Burchfield and husband, James of Robbinsville; seven grandchildren, Dana Jones and Diane Mintz both of Andrews, Della Tatham of Asheville, Mack Tatham of Decatur, GA, Johnny Tatham of Jacksonville, FL, Jerry Tatham of Helen, GA, and Jamie Tatham of Warner Robins, GA; and 16 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 2:00 PM Friday (March 24) in the Andrews First Baptist Church with Revs. Daniel Stewart and Tommy Lamb officiating. Burial in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers: David Mintz, Thomas Jones, Billy and Ty Tatham, Joel McLelland, and Phillip Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 Friday afternoon at the Andrews First Baptist Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Lenora Jones to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chapter, P.O. Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
