MARY LOUISE CLAYTON RECTOR

Mary Louise Clayton Rector passed away Tuesday (March 28, 2006) at Park Ridge Hospital in Fletcher, NC after a long illness. Born December 22, 1917 in Henderson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Lula Lance Clayton. She was the wife of the late Clyde Rector, who died May 8, 1994. Louise was a lifelong resident of Andrews; however, she had lived for the last few years in Charlotte, NC and more recently in Asheville, NC. She worked her way through college at the Asheville Normal School where she received her degree. She worked for over 30 years as a teacher in the Cherokee County School System, retiring in 1978. She was an active member of the Andrews First Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church of Charlotte and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys L. Loughlin.
Surviving are two sons, Clyde W. Rector and his wife, Susan of Greenville, SC and George Rector and his wife, Joan Byrd of Cullowhee, NC; a brother, George Clayton of Asheville; and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (April 2) in the Andrews First Baptist Church with Dr. Chester Jones and Dr. Tommy Lamb officiating. Burial in the Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers: Terry and J.T. Postell, Robert Revis, and Bill, Christopher, and Bob Loughlin.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 Sunday afternoon at the Andrews First Baptist Church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Mary Louise Clayton Rector to the Andrews First Baptist Church, PO Box 427, Andrews, NC 28901.
