ROBERT W. LEDFORD

Robert W. Ledford, 79, of Hayesville died Thursday (March 16, 2006) at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, he was the son of the late Lish Washington and Paralee Phillips Ledford. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force. He was self-employed in the timber industry. Robert was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Loree Hogsed Ledford; three daughters, Margaret Patterson and Anita Moss both of Hayesville, and Bobbie Jane Hoodenpyle of Hiawassee, GA; two sons, Larry Ledford of Hiawassee and Jeff Ledford of Murphy; three sisters, Era Byers of Brevard, NC, Moniree Ledford of Clayton, GA, and Bonnie Gribble of Hiawassee; and nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services at 3:00 PM Sunday (March 19) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Rev. Gary Ashe officiating. Burial in Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Larry, Jeff, and Kristen Ledford, Jim Patterson, Dwight Moss, and Justin Howell.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 Sunday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Robert W. Ledford to the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 951 Old Highway 64 East, Hayesville, NC 28904.
