WILLIAM THOMAS MOORE

William Thomas Moore, 76, of Andrews died Sunday (March 12, 2006) in a Murphy medical center. A native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late John Bunyan and Bessie Mae Hensley Moore. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army as a signal corpsman. He was married to Virginia Maxey on December 27, 1952. In 1967, he founded Creative Printers and continued to manage it until present. His hobbies included boating, fishing, snow skiing, and spoiling his six grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Virginia Maxey Moore; a daughter, Karen Moore Gibson and husband, Herbert C. Gibson Jr. of Birmingham, AL; a son, William Keith “Bill” Moore and wife, Sherry Crawford Moore of Andrews; four sisters, Mary Brown of Andrews, Frances Townson of Murphy, Ruth Fleming of Greer, SC, and Patricia Jabley of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Richard Moore of Aquone; six grandchildren, Catherine Forker, Clark Gibson, Brett Gibson, Thomas Gibson, Grant Moore, and Brent Moore; a special nephew loved as a son, Greg Maxey and his daughter, Doria Maxey; and one other very dear great niece, Chelsea Bristol.
Funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday (March 15) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with the Revs. George Simmons, Ron McClure, and Bob Miller officiating. Music provided by a grandson, Clark Gibson. Burial in Tomotla Community Cemetery. Pallbearers: Thomas and Brett Gibson, Brent Moore, Samuel McAfee, Howard Brown, and Richard P. Moore.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
The family requests memorials be made in memory of William Thomas Moore to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095.
