ALTHEA WILHIDE BOUCHER

Althea Wilhide Boucher, 85, of Andrews died Sunday (March 18, 2007) in a Murphy medical center. She was a native of Andrews, but had lived in Joplin, MO and Nashville, TN before moving back to Andrews in 1990. She was the daughter of the late Charles Garland and Elda Rowland Wilhide and the wife of the late Edwin R. Boucher, who died July 27, 1987. She was a 1939 graduate of the Andrews High School. Althea was a veteran of WWII, serving as a Navel flight mechanic on combat training aircraft. She had worked as a homemaker and was a volunteer in numerous community affairs. She was a member of the Andrews First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Windel D. Wilhide; and four first cousins, Frank Jr., Robert, and Wallace Wilhide, and Harold Hall.
Surviving are a son, Gary Boucher of Andrews; a sister, Phyllis W. Phillips of Asheville; two first cousins, Emogene Ledford of Andrews and Catherine Rice of Metropolis, IL; a brother-in-law, Allen M. Boucher of Joplin, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services at 7:00 PM Thursday (March 22) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Rev. Paul Hacklander officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-6:45 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews prior to the services.
