SAMMY  F.  MOORHEAD
 

Sammy F. Moorhead, 69, of Andrews died Thursday (March 15, 2007) at his residence.  He was a native of Hart County, GA, but had been living in Andrews since September of 2006.  He was the son of the late Hugh and Edna Cheek Moorhead.  He had served in the US Army Reserves.  Sammy worked for 34 years with Hart Communications and later retired from Engineering & Associates.  Most recently, he was working with Sav-A-Lot in Andrews. He was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge No. 690 and was a Shriner.  He was of the Baptist faith.
 
He was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Moorhead.
 
Surviving are his life partner, Ginger Burch Woodall;  a sister, Peggy Guest and husband, Dean of Elberton, GA;  a sister-in-law, Cathy Moorhead Blackburn of Hartwell, GA;  a daughter, Kay of Tennessee;  a son, Todd of Hartwell;  and a granddaughter and three  grandsons.
 
Funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday (March 18) in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Hartwell.  Interment in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.  Masons and Shriners as pallbearers.
 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the Strickland Funeral Home.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Sammy F. Moorhead to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095.
