ANTHONY FRANCIS “Tony” ACKERMAN

Anthony Francis “Tony” Ackerman, 34, of Andrews died Thursday (March 1, 2007).  He was born in Panama but had lived in Herndon, VA for most of his life before moving to Andrews in 2000.  He was a graduate of Herndon High School and attended Northern Virginia Community College.  Tony worked as an archivist for a laboratory before moving to Andrews and while here, worked as a carpenter.  His hobbies included fishing, carpentry, and writing.
 
Surviving are his parents, Larry J. and Joan M. Michael Ackerman of Andrews; two brothers, Dr. David Ackerman and wife, Alison of Andrews and Andrew Ackerman and wife, Susan of Lawrenceville, GA; and three nieces and three nephews.
 
Memorial services at 7:30 PM Tuesday (March 6) in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Rev. Harry Hawk officiating.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Anthony Francis “Tony” Ackerman to a fund for the treatment of Depression Associated Diseases at RBC Centura of Andrews (Account No. 139304546), PO Box 1200, Andrews, NC 28901.
